Day 2

Depart for the Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary, a national park in the far eastern region of Bhutan.

Explore Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary

Look out for some of the rarest wildlife species in the country, such as the Red Panda and Himalayan Monal Pheasant.

Visit the two largest villages in the sanctuary, Merak and Sakteng. These villages are home to Bhutan’s most prominent highlanders, the seminomadic people called Brokpas.

Return to Thimphu

Depart for Thimphu early in the morning.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the city or shopping for souvenirs.
